Owner, founder, and the captain behind the creative process of the oyster magic. She does about twenty things at once while wearing a dress and never breaking a sweat. Grit & Grace is her ever-expanding vision that all began on beautiful Sullivan’s Island.

INVENTORY MANAGER
Native of Charleston, Shelley is a creative and positive addition to the Grit & Grace Studio family! When she's not gilding oysters and making us smile, Shelley enjoys researching music of all genres, from jazz to rap!

Clayr
SUSTANABILITY COORDINATR
Hallelujah for our studying marine biologist! Clayr works the outdoor field of the studio, helping us to keep our shores clean, collect shell, and teach us facts about the bivalves we work with everyday. Her curious, bubbly approach to nature and life is inspiring.

HR
Karen is the heart and soul of our HR team, bringing her passion for people and her impeccable style to everything she does! A proud mom of three, she’s always ready to share her fashion expertise with our mermaids, helping them look and feel their best as they welcome new arrivals. Karen does it all with a heart of gold, and we’re so lucky to have her on the team!

SHIPPING MANAGER
Bailey rocks every single role that she plays at Grit & Grace. She is our production manager, a production artist, a master gift wrapper, and helps out with sending our handmade goodies to their new homes! Bailey does it all while also being one of the best humans we know. We love you, Bailey!

PRODUCTION MANAGER
Em is one of our production artists that brings the perfect amount of spunk to any occasion! You can catch her helping out at the Farmer’s Market and enjoying all things Charleston. This lovely lady is a fun-loving wildflower who you can’t help but admire.

Emily, one of our talented production artists, has a passion for the art of painting and the process of crafting our beautiful products. She loves and appreciates each shell for its unique characteristics. Outside of the art studio, Emily enjoys exploring the oak filled woods of Charleston on horseback with her beloved horse, Harley.

Kim has been a beloved Grit & Grace mermaid for the past year and a half, with a special bond to Rachel that goes way back—Rachel even designed Kim’s wedding dress during her days as a wedding dress designer! When she’s not brightening our days, Kim shines as a talented real estate agent, bringing her expertise and warmth to everything she does.

Hailing from the beautiful Isle of Palms, Sarah is one of the warmest and most welcoming faces you'll find at Grit & Grace. Whether she’s assisting customers during the week or sharing her positive energy, Sarah’s kindness always shines through. When she's not bringing her vibrant personality to the studio, you can find her hitting the books in school or chasing the next big wave. We’re lucky to have her around!

Elizabeth is one of the friendly smiles at our original 478 King Street store. Elizabeth hand paints oyster shells with various textures, from a three dimensional palm to a sandy shore, she knows how to bring her paintings to life!

WAREHOUSE MANAGER
Kelly is G&G’s Warehouse Manager and she creates handmade accessories, home decor, and custom hand painted artwork and invitations. She sculpts her jewelry and accessories with clay and real seashells picked ethically from the shores of Charleston.

Kelly is super sweet and fantastic with paint-pouring for our Gilded Ocean Oyster Dishes. Kelly grew up in the Charlotte, NC area, but fell in love with Charleston’s warm winters when she came to visit us in December several years ago. We are excited to see where she grows with us!
