Walking with Grace: Jessica Rueger

We recently shared our first inspiring and transformational Mala Workshop, a beautiful afternoon filled with creativity, positivity, sisterhood, and setting intentions. Today we’re taking a moment to highlight the woman who helped lead and structure that inaugural experience.

Jessica Rueger is a self-mastery coach and wedding officiant based in Charleston, SC. Her work centers around helping her clients break existing patterns and harness their potential, and Jessica has become a regular in the Grit & Grace Studio Flagship, directly team-building exercises and most recently leading the beautiful, inspiring Blessed Way ceremony for our sweet Gail as she stepped into her maternity leave.

As we approach a new year, a refreshed perspective, and better, brighter days ahead, we’re taking a moment to connect with and highlight Jessica in the next installment of our Walking with Grace series.

Jessica Rueger

Self-mastery Coach

What is a life coach?

A life coach is someone who teaches you to hold yourself accountable for your choices while expertly showing you the ways you’re unconsciously limiting yourself from creating the very experiences you truly want to be having in all aspects of your life.

As a life coach, I show you that you are, in fact, a powerful creator. I support you as you move beyond the limiting beliefs that have, until now, hijacked your focus and your energy and caused you to create your life as it currently is. I teach you the way to take full responsibility for creating the experiences you want.

How did you get started coaching?

The beginning of my coaching journey happened very organically after I began to experience incredible results working with a mentor.

This experience sparked a deep desire within me to share these infinite benefits with others.

Like many of us, who are new to something and yet to have the benefit of what only experience can bring, I struggled with imposter syndrome until I heard Eckhart Tolle share the following in Practicing Presence, “You will never be ready to be a teacher, and you don’t have to be ready to be a teacher.”

That was precisely what I needed to hear to commit to a rewarding career as a creative mastery life coach. And like magic, my first client asked me to become her teacher.

What does self-mastery mean to you?

Self-mastery is a lifelong, moment-to-moment pursuit of increasing your ability to recognize and be willing to accept all aspects of yourself, from the most unconscious dysfunctional behaviors (that we all possess) to the absolute brilliant genius that is within us all.

Mastery opens you to access your inherent ability to hold multiple perceptions objectively. The way of mastery develops disciplined imagination, determination for clear vision, faith in your intuition, and willingness to take action to create your reality without needing anything externally to exist or cease to exist.

What is your favorite part of coaching?

My favorite thing about coaching is witnessing my clients' results every time they apply what they are learning. Nothing is greater than to watch them transform from living a primarily ego-centric lifestyle to living from their true heart's calling. I have seen my clients who do the work thrive even during a year like this one as a result of their commitment to creating powerfully.

I also love the ways coaching serves me to maintain a higher vibration while being of service to others. I truly have the best job ever!

What advice do you have for those looking to set their intentions for the new year?

As far as intention setting goes, it’s a daily if not moment-to-moment practice for those working on creative mastery.

And annually, I do take (myself and) my clients through an exercise to take an accurate look at what was intended to be and actually created, tolerated, learned, what didn’t and did work. From here, we focus and expand on what did work and make intentions, or choices, as I refer to them, for the coming year.

People that work with me learn that they don’t need to waste any more energy trying to figure out “how” to get what they want. They learn that they don’t need to know, and that they will know what what they need to know moment they need to know and act on it.

We cannot recommend Jessica Rueger’s guidance and wisdom highly enough, and we hope you’ll connect with her as you chart your course and take steps to visualize your best self during this transitional time. We’re grateful for Jessica’s time and energy, both in this interview, our sessions, and charting a course for our Mala Workshop.
